This delightful pair of similar shape structures are on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. Built adjacent to a retained existing residence (more typical of the region), the project gave Gianni Botsford the ultimate privilege for any architect - to create a home for his father. It also allowed him to extend many of his own architectural preoccupations, best summarised in his practice's mission statement that refers to the pursuit of 'architecture of local adaptation to climate, environment and culture'.
