Unusual and exotic animals are increasingly popular pets. Both pet owners and physicians should be aware that some of these animals are either toxic or venomous. Neither the family nor the physicians from whom the family initially sought advice were aware that the animalrsquo;s tissues contain tetrodotoxin.
