SPO (Splithyphen;phyphen;Orbital) Method. IV. Calculations for the (2p)2State of Helium

The energies of the three possible (2p)2states of helium (1S,1D,3P) are calculated with SPO functions and with correlated Hylleraas functions. Calculations are also carried out for the nonstationary (2pz)2state. The results indicate that vertical correlation is an important factor in systems containingpelectrons.
