Forged Al16061 based metal matrix composites (MMC) containing 4and 8 vol./100 of SiC particles were tested under cyclictensile/compression loadings. Experimental data show enhanced plasticproperties. Usual mean field models (self-consistent, MoriTanaka,3-phase) cannot be used to model the cyclic behavior of composite dueto their formulation. A micromechanical model, based on aphenomenological modification of the initial Moritanaka model, isproposed to represent the cyclic behavior of MMC's.
