摘要

ABSTRACTA radioimmunoassay forStaphylococcusenterotoxin usingStaphylococcus aureuscells containing protein A has already been developed. This technique has been employed in our laboratory to detect staphylococcal enterotoxins A and B in six different food materials. Food constituents that interfere with solid state radioimmunoassays do not affect this free solution method to the same extent. The protein A procedure may be used to generate a single representative standard curve, from which toxin levels in other foods may be quantitated. The sensitivity of this assay is 0.1 ng/ml for enterotoxin A and 0.5 ng/ml for enterotoxin B.
