A semiempirical analytical atomic independent‐particle‐model potential adjusted to experimental single‐particle energy levels is used to generate wave functions for the valence and excited states of Ge i, Sn i, and Pb i. Using the Born approximation andLScoupling we calculate optical oscillator strengths for excitations from the ground states 4p2(3P0) of Ge i, 5p2(3P0) of Sn i, and 6p2(3P0) of Pb i. The results are compared to experimental and theoretical data.
