The broadhyphen;line proton magnetic resonance spectra of polycrystalline samples of the compound formulated empirically as bgr;hyphen;UO3H2O have been examined in the temperature range 77deg;mdash;370deg;K. Analysis of the spectrum at 77deg;K shows that the compound is uranyl hydroxide UO2(OH)2. The interrelationships between the different phases in the uraniumhyphen;trioxidemdash;water system which involve the bgr;hyphen;modifications of the ``uranium trioxide hydrates'' are discussed.
