Using the copper-vapor laser to restore works of art

This paper shows that it is possible to use a copper-vapor laser to restore certain objects of historical and cultural heritage. The results of experiments on the use of such a laser to clean the surface of paper and marble from contaminants and natural strata are given as an example. (C) 2008 Optical Society of America.
