A short-cut to 2,7-dihydrothiopyrano2,3-bpyrrole

A simple original approach to earlier unknown parent 2,7-dihydrothiopyrano2,3-bpyrrole (5) from allyl isothiocyanate and propargyl bromide via one-pot synthesis and thermal rearrangement of 2-(prop-2-ynylsulfanyl)-1H-pyrrole (4) has been developed. The compound 5 in the present study was successfully examined as 2,7-dihydrothiopyrano2,3-bpyrrole scaffold in the synthesis of corresponding N- and C-pyrrolecarbodithioates.
