It is widely believed that the art of pa-permaking was invented by Psailun in 105 AD in China. However, according to a paper expert, recent researches have ample evidence that paper was made in India as far back as 250 BC. S.N. Singh, a paper technologist with specialization in handmade paper, said the rigid Hindu society at the time did not accept it sacred and pious. So, they continued with Tadpatra and Bhojpatra as the writing materials.
