Tc-99m thyroid scintigraphy in a 12-year-old girl with a left neck mass demonstrated a large "cold" intrathyroidal nodule that appeared to bisect an enlarged left lobe,giving the gland an unusual and distinctive morphology Surgical exploration revealed moderately well-differentiated adenocarcinoma of the thyroid with regional lymph node metastases.
