The behavior of hydrogels based on sodium acrylate cross-linked to different extents with N,N'-methylenebis(acrylamide)was examined in aqueous solutions of copper sulfate of concentrations within 0.1-0.001 M.Unique physicochemical properties of polyelectro-lyte hydrogels, especially the ability to substantially change their size in response to minor changes in the external conditions, attract huge researchers'interest1-4.High-swelling polymeric hydrogels find application in medicine,as well as in food and cosmetic industries5-8.The effects arising in hydrogels under the action of low-molecular-weight salts can underlie purifying and enrichment technologies.
