A Method for the Culture of Leucocytes of the Guinea Pigi(Cavia cobaya/i) with Karyotype Analysis

A technique is described which facilitates the culture of guinea pig leucocytes. Mitotic indices with this technique range from·to 9.3 with a mean of 6.4. The modal number of 64 in the diploid form confirms that found by others with fixed tissue cells. The ready identification of the X chromosome because of its distinctive shape suggests the possibility of studying the influence of experimental conditions on its morphology
