This paper proposes MIRACLE (virtual MIRror And CLothing Environment) system, which realizes a cloth-fitting room not by actual cloth-fitting but by digital image processing. For the sake of realizing MIRACLE system, we developed (1) a new eye-contact terminal and (2) fast fitting algorithm. About (1), we developed a new terminal supporting eye-contact. This is because one of the features of a mirror is eye contact between user and user's mirror image. Our terminal is composed of hologram screen, video camera, video projector and PC for image processing. Here, the reason we use hologram screen is that it makes it possible to eye-contact between user and user's mirror image. About (2), our first goal of this system is set to develop fast image processing algorithm for KIMONOs, which are Japanese traditional clothes. Our algorithm is based on fast matching for textures and fast texture mapping. This is because KIMONO is still made by order-made way and our system will work well especially in this industry.
