New Products from Alkali Fusion of Ginkgolides A and B

Alkali fusion of ginkgolides A and B has afforded five unexpected products3#x2013;7. Their structures were established from their spectral data and chemical reactions. They were evaluated for theirin vitroactivity to inhibit the platelet-activating factor-induced aggregation of rabbit platelets and show less potency than ginkgolides A and B.
