COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF NEWCASTLE DISEASE VACCINES

Inspite of the routine vaccination practices and availability of potent vaccines, the Newcastle Disease (ND) still remains one of the most important viral diseases of the poultry industry. Several vaccination schedules have been recommended by variousworkers time to time (Phillips, 1973, Allan et al., 1978; Ghandrasekar et al., 1988). The haemagglutination inhibition antibody litres induced by vaccination were used to evaluate the protective ability of the vaccines (Phillips, 1973; Allan et al., 1978; Oberoi et al., 1983). Preient communication reports the evaluation of three commercially available live attenuated ND vaccines for -their efficacy to induce the haemagglutination inhibition (HI) antibodiet and afford the protection.
