The immune response in rabbits from days 4–20 and at days 120 and 300 after a single injection of alum-precipitated tetanus toxoid was followed by indirect hemagglutination (HA), reduction with 2-mercaptoethanol (2ME) and toxin neutralization (TN) in mice. By 2ME treatment and HA, 19S was found to occur mainly from 4 to 12 days and mainly 7S by about 13 days and thereafter. TN first occurred at 6 days and persisted at 300 days after primary immunization. 2ME treatment had little or no effect on TN when comparing treated and untreated antiser
