Preparation of Some N-Trimethylsilyl,-germyl, and -stannyl Substituted Aminoboranes

Several new aminoboranes containing Si-N-B, Ge-N-B, or Sn-N-B linkages have been prepared. Addition of LiN(SiMe3)2to PhBCl2resulted in the formation of (Me3Si)2NB(Ph)Cl which reacted readily with ammonia to form theB-NH2derivative. The lithium salts of (Me3E)n(t-Bu)2-nNH (E = Si, Ge; n = 1, 2) reacted with Me2NB(Ph)Cl giving the bisaminoboranes, (Me3E)n(t-Bu)2-nNB(Ph)NMe2. The tin compounds, (Me3Sn)2NB(X)NMe2(X = Ph, NMe2), were prepared by cleavage reactions of (Me3Sn)3N with chloroboranes, Me2NB(X)Cl.
