Effective alignment coefficient of nematic liquid crystal

摘要

In this paper, the effective alignment coefficient ηa(ηa ＜ 1) is proposed for the determination of the effective value of ε'{sub}(//) (the long axis of the liquid crystal molecules is parallel to the direction of the r.f. electric field E{sub}(rf)), where the value of must be modified to ηaε'{sub}(//) in the microstrip-line construction. This concept is useful for the design of the microstrip-line-type variable delay line.
