Statoil firms growth guidance on Q2 strength

Copenhagen—Norway’s Statoil on Thursday upgraded its outlook for oil and gas production in the current year, helped by the ramp-up of new fields, increased gas offtake and more efficient output. The Norwegian state-controlled group, posting second quarter profits above analysts’ expectations, said it saw production in 2017 up 5 on the year compared with the previous target of a 4-5 rise.
