Shell sheds most Canada oil sands assets

Washington-Shell is shedding most of its Canadian oil sands assets to reshape its priorities to lower-cost production with less carbon intensity, CEO Ben van Beurden said Thursday. Canadian Natural Resources will expand its stake in the oil sands while Marathon will completely exit Canada as part of the package of deals with Shell.
