A 44-year-old premenopausal woman had a T3N0M0 breast cancer in the inner superior quadrant of the left breast. Her biopsy revealed a histologic grade III and nuclear grade II invasive ductal carcinoma with foci of comedocarcinoma. The patient was placed on three cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy with cyclophosphamide, epirubicin, and fluorouracil (FEC). Scintimammography, mammography, and histopathologic evaluation were obtained prior to and after treatment to evaluate the tumor response to chemotherapy. After modified radical mastectomy, histopathology demonstrated only 10 of viable tumor cells, 80 of collagenization, and 10 of tumor necrosis.
