Chronic heart failure (CHF) occurs when the heart is damaged by myocardial infarction, hypertension, coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmia, heart valve disease, congenital heart disease, endocarditis, myocarditis, or as the result of damage by alcohol, drugs and other substances. Prevalence of CHF are increasing not only in the western countries but also in the developing countries due to a result of aging world population and improved survival following acute myocardial infarction as well as the development of the reliable laboratory data for diagnosis and the optimal therapy. Current, there were new concepts in the evaluation of the stages as well as in the treatment and prevention of CHF in order to improve morbidity and mortality.
