A 53-year-old Latin American woman presented 1 day after experiencing visual hallucinations. She reported that she had woken up in the morning with tingling body sensations, feelings of chills running down her spine, and projections of the images of her deceased father, mother, and brother on the bedroom wall in front of her. She stated that she felt very angry at that time and wanted to die. The patient reported that someone had cut out her heart. She said she felt as if she was unreal, was seeing herself from the outside, and that the soul had vanished from her body.The patient reported feeling depressed for the past month. She had not been doing household chores because of feeling lethargic. She was sleeping excessively, with daytime naps. She used to wake up and prepare breakfast for her husband before he went to work, but she had not been able to do this for some time. She had enjoyed reading the Bible, but she could not concentrate to read any more. The patient also reported that she would start a task at home but would not be able to finish the task because she would lose interest.
