GLOBAL PAPER consumption continues to grow. The decline in graphic paper, which started around 10 years ago in developed countries, is now more than compensated for by global growth in packaging papers and tissue. This change in paper production mix combined with the changing consumer demands continues to reduce the use of mechanical pulps and increase the demand for kraft pulp and recycled fiber.
