THE GENUS SCIRPUS LINN.: CRITICAL SPECIES OF THE SECTION PTEROLEPIS

The section Pterolepis is expanded to include section Schoenoplectus. Critical species of this section are discussed in detail with particular emphasis on North and South American relationships. A key to all known species is provided. The following new combinations are proposed:S. americanusssp.monophyllus, S. americanusssp.monophyllusvar.conglomeratus, S. times; contortus, S. littoralisvar.capensis, andS. californicusssp.Tatora.
