At 22, I left university with a respectable, but not particularly practical degree in politics, and fell in to an office job. By the time I reached my early thirties, I began to feel that there must be more to life than the drudgery of the 9-5. Afterlots of soul-searching, I decided to make a complete change and move to Cumbria with my wife (who is thankfully very supportive!), and study forestry at Newton Rigg. Some people thought this a brave move and some thought that it less than sensible. I, however, do not think it was either. I had no choice. Thankfully, it has proved to be one of the best decisions of my life.
