Design, synthesis and characterisation of ethylcellulose latex

Latex pharmaceutical preparations are currently widely used in the pharmaceutical industry as vehicles in diverse forms. The aim of this work was to study the design, synthesis and characterisation of ethylcellulose latex to evaluate its influence on the end characteristics of the products obtained with it. Several latexes were therefore prepared using different ethylcellulose polymers to determine the effect of the degree of substitution. They were then characterised by pH, viscosity, sedimentation, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) tests. References: 17
