This paper discusses some characteristics of the single-switch hybrid-parallel PFC converter, which was proposed before in a topology with two switches. This converter has good features of widening the input-current conduction angle and suppressing the voltage across the bulk capacitor. Experimental results show that this converter meets the harmonics regulation of IEC 61000-3-2 under the input-voltage condition of worldwide range (100 - 240V) and the load condition of 15V/6A. Moreover, a high efficiency of 90 was obtained for the load of 15V/6A.
