摘要

The wear behavior of three grades of A1_2O_3-TiC composites was investigated in a normal load range from 10 to 50 N. It was shown that the TiC particle size affects the wear behavior of the A1_2O_3-TiC composites significantly in the high load regime. Analysis of the experimental data and observations on the worn surfaces revealed that the improvement in the wear resistance of the composites may be attributed mainly to the stronger toughening effect due to the addition of larger TiC particles in the A1_2O_3 matrix.
