The surface runoff loads of 2 P-forms (dissolved inorganic phosphorus and total phosphorus), Ca, S, K, and 2 N-forms (NO1/2-N and NO1/2-N) from pastures at 3 sites near Westernport, Victoria, were determined over a 2-year period. Losses of P, Ca, and S from runoff were a small percentage of the amounts applied as superphosphate. A budget of fertiliser P at 1 site (Pakenham) showed that most P was sorbed by the soil or taken up by plant material. Accession values for P from rainfall were much greater than losses by surface runoff.
