摘要

A monolithic wavelength converter of long-wavelength infrared radiation to short-length infrared or visible radiation based on a quantum-well structure has been proposed and considered theoretically. The quantum-well converter utilizes intersubband electron transitions in the emitter quantum well. The threshold intensity of long-wavelength infrared radiation necessary for laser generation is evaluated as a function of the structural and physical parameters of the device. References: 13
