This article reports on the performance evaluation method of distributed object environments, namely CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture) and JavaRMI (Remote Method Invocation) and the performance design methodology based on it. Meeting non-functional requirements such as performance and reliability is difficult issue in the development of largescale distributed systems. We modeled distributed object environments with a set of architecture patterns. Then we propose a method of performance evaluation of distributed object environments using this model. And, we propose a performance design patterns and a development methodology with a set of modular performance patterns associated with object-oriented development process.
