The purpose of this study is to show the results of thephysicochemical treatment of leachates from a municipal solidwaste(MSW)landfill sited in Madrid(Spain). Different techniques ofcontamination elimination were studied to Reduce the concentration ofcontaminants in solution and suspended matter. The reagents used wereprecipitating agents such as lime slurry and caustic Soda andcoagulant-flocculant agents, to facilitate sedimentation, likeFeCl_3.6H _2O and Al_2(SO_4)_3.18H_2O.
