This paper discusses forward error correction (FEC) coding for parallel blind demodulation techniques. These demodulation techniques are based on adaptive maximum-likelihood sequence estimation with per-survivor processing (PSP-MLSF) and are suitable for fast time varying channels, e.g., for private mobile radio communication systems. However, these demodulation techniques suffer from error floor on fast fading channels. This paper evaluates FEC coding, in order to mitigate error floor. Finally, computer simulation shows that Reed-Solomon codes are effective for the mitigation of error floor with high coding rate.
