An Investigation on Generic Properties of People Flow Database

Recently, many people flow databases are being made and widely used not only domestically but also abroad. Practically, in prediction applications, the data assimilation mechanism should be designed with the real time sparse data from smartphones and probe cars, and other conventional roadside sensing platforms. On the other hand, it is considered that the past people flow contains some kind of generic properties beyond the era, which are explicitly extracted by the adequate transformation of traffic networks and road networks. This is because human spatial movements are caused by fundamental life activities. In this article, we focus on the generic properties and specific properties of people flow for the purpose of utilizing static huge database of people flow as long as possible, especially for prediction applications.
