Epidemiological and ecological relations ofXanthomonas phaseoliandX. phaseolivar.fuscanson beans in southwestern Ontario, 1961ndash;1968

The effects of introducing new varieties and bacterial strains upon the epidemiology, ecology, and control ofXanthomonas phaseoliandX. phaseolivar.fuscansin registered bean seed crops in southwestern Ontario between 1961 and 1968 are described. A new phage type ofX. phaseoli, Ib, is reported. Problems related to plant introductions and the detection of seed-borne pathogens are discussed.
