Since completion of the two hydro facilities that make up the Priest Rapids Project on the Columbia River in central Washington, Public Utility District No. 2 of Grant County (Grant PUD) has worked to protect affected fish. Anadromous fish that pass the 1,038-MW Wanapum Dam and the 955.6-MW Priest Rapids Dam include spring, summer, and fall chinook salmon; coho salmon; sockeye salmon; and steelhead.
