The impact of digital control and tools on dc/dc converters

Dc/dc converters based on digital control bring a new dimension of possibilities to standard features available in power supplies today. Digital power brings two fundamental changes in the design of power supplies: communica- tion with the converter via digital interfaces, and digital control of the loop. These are referred to as digitally managed and digitally controlled power supplies, respectively.
