Papers impregnated with zinc silicate have been used for the chromatographic studies of amines taken in the form of their hydrochlorides. Rfvalues of various amines have been determined and compared with its behaviour on plain papers. Quantitative separations of dimethylamine from methylamine, #x3B1;-naphthylamine, o-toluidine and o-nitroaniline; o-phenylenediamine from m-phenylenediamine; diphenylamine from piperidine have also been achieved on columns loaded with zinc silicate exchanger.
