The authors outline briefly the geography, geology, and vegetation of Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec. They then describe bryophyte societies, or unions, growing in different habitats. The catalogue of bryophytes of the mountain lists 197 species and 15 varieties of mosses and 36 species of liverworts.
