Absence of arginase in healthy and crown gall tissues of tomato

The suggestion that changes in arginine levels in crown gall tissue are due to the activity of arginase was investigated in tomato tissue. A semimicro procedure for the assay of arginase activity failed to detect the presence of this enzyme in normal or crown gall tissue.
