Phialide and phialospore ontogeny ofPhialophora lagerbergii(Melin and Nannf.) Conant,Penicillium corylophilumDierckx, and the imperfect state ofCeratocystis paradoxa(Dade) Moreau are illustrated by time-lapse photomicrography, and a unified concept of the phialide is derived.
