摘要

Case history Case 1 This 12-year-old male was running hard at school when he felt a pop in his left hip and then there was almost immediate onset of pain. The severity of the pain initially was 8 out of 10. By the time he came to our emergency room (ER), it was 4 out of 10. However, it always was there and was aggravated by walking. It was a little better when he was lying down or sitting. Upon arrival to our ER, he was found to be in good health and the only problem was with his left lower extremity. He did not want to walk on it and complained of pain. On physical examination, there was relatively full movement of the left hip but not without assistance by the examiner. When asked where he was hurt, he sort of circled his palm around the outer part of the hip. On physical examination, he seemed to be most tender around the upper part of the iliac wing. Radiographs of the pelvis and hips were obtained (Fig. la). Do you see a fracture?
