In Uruguay, catches have substantially improved though there was a delay in the reopening of fishery. CHILLED, FROZEN TUNA: JAPAN: Tuna consumption has started to decline as the rainy season sets-in. Supplies have been adjusted accordingly. THAILAND: Frozen skipjack price has touched US900 dollar /MT. JAPANESE SHRIMP MARKET: Domestic market in Japan has entered a weakening phase both in terms of demand and prices. Imports are just minimum. Farmers in Asia have slowed down harvesting due to the weak market prices but buyers are asking for further price adjustment expecting more supplies in the coming months. The market is extremely volatile. US SHRIMP MARKET: The market remains unsettled as the USDOC decision on tariff has been delayed till end July. Meanwhile import statistics for March'04 showed record high supplies from most of the target countries of the ami-dumping case except Brazil.
