Since the beginning of the year, LME tin prices have remained broadly within the $19,000 to $21,000 range. Movements within this price range have been quite volatile, with the sharp increase in price in Mid-March and subsequent correction understood to have been a reaction to a play by a market speculator leading to the cancellation of 1,000 tonnes of LME warrant stocks.
