摘要

We experimentally demonstrate decoding of 2-level and 4-level Stokes-vector-modulated signals at 3 Gbaud by using a compact photonic integrated circuit (PIC) on InP. Since it relies on non-interferometae direct-detection scheme and its operation can fee calibrated, the demonstrated device is inherently robust against fabrication imperfectness. With the potential of monolithically integrating high-speed InP photodetector array on the same chip, it paves the way to realize compact and low-cost direct-detection-based receivers for multi-level Stokes vector modulation formats in future short-reach optical communication links.
