NA;Development of a new technique for measurement of blood flow during routine vascular contrast studies is described. Circuitry is described which allows densitometric sampling of the changing fluoroscopic image using the television system which is coupled to an image‐amplified fluoroscope. The conversion of the optical image to an electronic image allows rapid computation of flow rates based on the Hamilton‐Stewart formula for dye‐dilution in hemodynamic systems. Results of representative experiments are presented along with an analysis of the electronic components. Modification to existing equipment is minimal and the techniques of vascular contrast studies need not be modified.
