The Zeeman splitting of the conduction band in the magnetic semiconductor Cd1minus;xMnxTe withx0.25 has been inferred from measurements of Fowlerndash;Nordheim tunneling characteristics in a metalhyphen;semiconductorhyphen;metal structure. The largegvalue of the band electrons leads to a decrease of the barrier height in a magnetic field and, consequently, to an exponential increase in the tunneling current.
