Incidence of thermoduric psychrotrophs in milk produced in the west of Scotland

Thermoduric psychrotrophs were found in 27.2 of milk samples collected from 1040 farms in the west of Scotland. Of the micro‐organisms isolated 85.8 were identified as belonging to the genusBacillusand 9.9 were assigned to the coryneform group.Bacillus cereusoccurred most frequently andB. licheniformis and B. coagulansalso occurred in significant number
